Renee Stout, one of the current Sondheim finalists exhibiting work at the Baltimore Museum of Art.  From Sondheim exhibit curatorial notes: “Painting now joins sculptural tableaus, hand-crafted glass objects, photography, and text-based pieces to weave a fascinating narrative around the character of a fictional healer - this character incorporates aspects of Stout’s own biography, and the visual and verbal stories that she tells enfold the artist’s own experiences of the cities of Washington and New Orleans.” http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/artsandliving/features/2007/installation-nation-042207/index.html#
